Saving A few Bucks!

Coupons, savings, rants & raves!

A little Krogering....

It was just a short trip with a small list.....just making sure I had the 10 or 20 items to get the additional savings wasn't as hard as I thought probably because I only had a 23 items on my list. A nice savings!

Thank you God for the wonderful, peaceful, restful holidays! They are over and everyone is healthy and happy!

I did very little grocery shopping over the last 8 weeks-my supply was just enough that I didn't go without and had just what I needed for the most part. I did pick up a few things to take to some Christmas parties but for daily meals I had plenty of supplies.

Now its time to get back into the "couponing" and rebuild what I tore down! My list consists of eggs, bread, soup, ready made meals (Lean Cuisine) along with Light Bulbs, Laundry Soap, Dishwasher Detergent and a dish scrubber/sponge.

I'm looking forward to the 6 inserts in tomorrows Macomb Daily paper!!!

A few weeks ago I got this lot from Meijers for $9.00.  Without the parachuters it would have been $5.00. Nice little trip!

Cheaper Wellness

For those of you who use Wellness Dog or Cat food I found a blog "Wellness Dog Food Coupons" that tracks and posts coupons monthly for the food.

I was able to click on the US DRY coupon and print it but there seems to be a bit of trouble with the US WET link which goes to the DRY.

Shelved, ripped off & updated!

From my past experience with shelves being clear of the sale items, I figured I'd outsmart the "shelfclearer" by doing my small bit of Meijer shopping at 10pm on a Saturday night. Who could possibly be shopping at that hour on a Saturday night? Right?

There was very few people shopping at that hour which was nice, kind of felt like the store was my playground. I had managed to find a couple of things on my list but was very disappointed that the shelves for some of the other items were once again empty.

Scan first Type last!

If you participate in the Meijer MPerks program you will save more $ by scanning your printed coupons prior to typing in your Mperks number.

Here's why...

Most of the times the Mperks coupon value is less than the printed one available on the Internet or in the newspaper inserts and Mperks coupons do not double.

At the end of your order scan your higher value coupons (which double) first, then type in your Mperks number to ensure you get the greatest savings.

Tips to Create a Stockpile

By Corrie @ "Cents"able Momma (November 7, 2008)

This is a great post and a wealth of info I found from "Cents"able Momma, her button/link is on my the side of my blog.

Thank you "Cents"able Momma!

One of the tools that I use to save money on groceries and household goods is to create a stockpile. Basically, I’ll purchase non-perishable items when they are at rock bottom prices even if I don’t necessarily need them at that very moment and store them in my “pantry”. Then, when I am making my menu plan and grocery list I can “shop” myself first.
How do I do this?
The key is to match store sales with my coupons. I actually have several tools that I use to achieve this:
  • I check out the CVS, Walgreens, and Rite Aid deals on various blogs to get the best prices on household items like toothpaste, deodorant, razors, etc. Many times, I can get these items for free or almost free.
  • I personally use The Grocery Game for my grocery purchases, because I don’t feel like maintaining my own price book, and I’m not very good at remembering what is a good price for an item. The Grocery Game gives me a list each week for my grocery store (although you can pick multiple stores) for items along with the coupon that matches the item, and whether the item is at a price good enough to stock up or only to get if you really need it. Lately, I’ve been saving about 50% off my grocery bill by matching sales and coupons. There is a cost to the Grocery Game, though. It’s about $1.25 a week for one store. If you want to try it out, you can get a free 4 week trial.

RXs for Less

OK I'm not feeling windy today so this will be short and sweet..........I came across this site by my frivolous hyper speed clicking through someones blog, I would love to give that person credit but can't remember whose it was-my sincerest apologies.

Internet Drug Coupons

You don't have to do the "card" to get the discounts. Just search the list for your medication, click it on and it takes you to the Drug company itself where you can print the coupon.
